Returning lunar samples was a precedence from the beginning. One of several initial things Neil Armstrong did immediately after his descent down the ladder was to pocket a specimen as the initial collected bit of the Moon. The missions that followed Apollo eleven had been far more aggressive, returning a wide variety of Moon rock samples, successfu
